2026 Three Castles Trial

The 2026 Three Castles Trial produced a closely fought contest across the Classic, Heritage and Intermediate categories, with several changes of lead over the course of the event.

Mark Godfrey and Ryan Pickering took overall victory in their Ford Escort Mk 1, finishing just 26 seconds ahead of John King and Guy Woodcock in the Ford Escort Mk 2.

Overall battle

A close contest at the front saw several changes of lead before Mark Godfrey and Ryan Pickering finally triumphed over John King and Guy Woodcock by the narrow margin of 26 seconds.

The 2025 winners, Graham Walker and Sean Toohey in the Lotus Elan, were quickest on the tests and finished a close third overall. Rikki Proffitt and Henry Carr in the Porsche 911 remained in contention throughout and finished fourth.

Heritage category

Shaun Harborne and Mike Cochrane enjoyed an impressive first Three Castles in their Bentley 3-4½, finishing eighth overall and taking Heritage honours by a considerable margin.

Mark Worrall and Annabel Jones brought their open-top Jaguar XK120 OTS through successfully and their car was voted the most desirable by the Scrutineering team.

Intermediate and novice crews

Patrick and Hubert Lynch took the leading Intermediate position in their Mini Cooper S, finishing seventh overall and receiving the £500 Vintage Tyres voucher.

Hywel Bryn Williams and Ryland James were the leading Novices in their Chrysler Sunbeam Ti, finishing 20th overall.
